By default a the blog preview on a landing page will display in a 5up grid. You can change the number of items in a row to 2, 3 or 4 by adding the tag 'grid:[number of items]' to the sub blog page. e.g. if you want the grid items to appear in rows of three add the tag 'grid:3'.
