Louisa Syrett is a seasoned advocacy and strategy leader with 20 years of experience driving social justice, international development, and health initiatives across multilateral, INGO, public, and private sectors.
Currently, she is Head of Gender Advocacy and Engagement at The Fred Hollows Foundation, where she champions gender equity in eye health globally. Her leadership has influenced policy, such as developing a gender and eye health brief with UN Women and organising advocacy events at the UN Commission for the Status of Women.
As Vice-Chair of Sutton Vision, Louisa has spearheaded strategic development and fundraising efforts, raising over £1m to support individuals with vision impairment living in the London borough of Sutton. Her past roles include Global Lead for Partnerships at the British Council and Head of UK Funding at Save the Children UK, where her innovative strategies significantly exceeded targets.
A skilled strategist and coalition-builder, Louisa is passionate about fostering systemic change through collaboration. She holds an MA in Cyberculture and Law from Macquarie University and a BA in History and Political Science from the University of Melbourne. Louisa’s leadership journey is defined by her commitment to inclusion, innovation, and impact.
