Raul Souza is a dedicated advocate for eye care access through various roles and initiatives. He holds several key positions, including Vision Products Technical Expert at UNICEF, Vision Technical Advisor at ATscale, and Vice-chair of the Ophthalmology Expert Panel in Medical Devices at the European Medicines Agency (EMA).
Additionally, he serves as an expert in the ophthalmic optics committees within the International Standards Organizations and as a Senior Collaborator in the Global Burden of Disease project at the Institute for Health Metrics and Evaluation.
As an Optometrist by training, Raul possesses extensive experience in engaging with key decision-makers to influence public health policies at both national and international levels. His work focuses on improving global eye care standards and ensuring access to quality vision care for all.
