She plays a key role in advancing Integrated People-Centred Eye Care (IPEC), working closely with the World Health Organization and global partners to support the implementation of IPEC at country level.

Junu Shrestha is a public health professional with a strong focus on health policy and advocacy. She plays a key role in advancing Integrated People-Centred Eye Care (IPEC), working closely with the World Health Organization and global partners to support the implementation of IPEC at country level. Her work spans strategic advocacy planning, international engagement—including at the World Health Assembly—and the development of influential policy resources.

Junu has led the creation of several key advocacy tools, including the IPEC Advocacy to Action Toolkit and Advocacy for Eye Health: A Beginner’s Guide. Her efforts have contributed significantly to global eye health policy dialogue and national-level advocacy initiatives. She holds an MSc in Health Policy, Planning, and Financing from the London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine and the London School of Economics and Political Sciences, awarded by the UK government’s prestigious Chevening Scholarship. She also holds a Master of Public Health from Tribhuvan University, Nepal.

In recognition of her contributions, Junu was named an IAPB Eye Health Hero in 2020. She currently serves on the Board of Directors of the Health Insurance Board under the Government of Nepal.
