Jissa James is a global eye health and development professional with over 15 years of experience in strategic partnerships, knowledge-sharing, and advocacy. As Senior Knowledge Manager at IAPB, she drives the development of knowledge tools, oversees the IAPB member engagement groups, and supports capability-building for 2030 In Sight, ensuring engagement, inclusivity and impact.
Previously, she led professional development at India Vision Institute, shaping multidisciplinary programs across India. An optometry educator turned global health advocate, Jissa holds a bachelor’s in optometry and is pursuing a master’s in global health policy at LSHTM. She also holds certifications in global blindness, systems thinking, project management, and women’s leadership in climate action. Passionate about leveraging evidence-driven insights and contextual design, she specializes in developing innovative, scalable, and inclusive solutions for knowledge exchange, advocacy, and stakeholder engagement.
