Fiona is a health policy adviser with Sightsavers covering areas such as eye health, inclusive data, climate and health and health equity. She works to ensure that eye health is included in broader health and development conversations at a global level in the UN and WHO and ensuring that equity is at the heart of the discussions.

Fiona is a health policy adviser with Sightsavers covering areas such as eye health, inclusive data, climate and health and health equity. She works to ensure that eye health is included in broader health and development conversations at a global level in the UN and WHO and ensuring that equity is at the heart of the discussions. She leads engagement for Sightsavers with the WHO SPECS Network, the Friends of Vision UN group, the IAPB advocacy group and on UK government engagement through Action for Global Health.

Having initially trained as an optometrist, Fiona previously worked at Mzuzu University teaching optometry in Malawi, worked with the Irish government development agency (Irish Aid) on EU development aid engagement and currently serves on the Women in Global Health Ireland core team working to advance gender equity in health leadership.
