Elizabeth Kurian is a leader in global eye health, with over three decades of experience spanning social development, research, policy, and governance. As the Chief Executive Officer and a Trustee of Mission for Vision, she is dedicated to advancing Universal Eye Health and driving sustainable development through innovative strategies and partnerships.
Previously, Elizabeth held key leadership roles at Nielsen and Sightsavers, where she served as CEO for India and later as Global Director for Advocacy. She has successfully led large-scale programmes in complex environments, shaping policy and practice to improve health outcomes.
Elizabeth is the Co-Chair of WHO’s Strategic and Technical Advisory Group for the SPECS 2030 initiative, is a Trustee of the International Agency for the Prevention of Blindness (IAPB), and an advisor on various boards and committees. Her contributions to the sector have been widely recognized through awards and publications.
