Director of Operations & Innovation, Vision Friend Sakib Gore | 2025 Young Systems Leader Award Winner
Samit Sakib Gore is the Director of Operations & Innovation at Vision Friend Sakib Gore, which over the last 34 years has delivered 2.7 million free eye tests, 1.6 million free spectacles, and 63,000 free cataract surgeries across rural India. To sustain and scale this mission with his father, he co-founded Vision Friend Eyewear and the VCU (We See You) Series, pioneering social enterprises that provide spectacles at just $0.11 and $0.38. This innovation enables NGOs to serve 2–3 times more people on the same budget while also offering branded spectacles that strengthen organizational identity.
Through his “Double Impact Model,” profits are reinvested into free rural eye camps, ensuring long-term community impact. Carrying forward his father’s self-funded legacy, he is now expanding to Brazil, Ethiopia, and Kenya to build last-mile vision ecosystems designed to endure beyond short-term projects.
His systems-level advocacy on school screenings, workplace vision, and road safety aligns with the WHO’s SPECS 2030, the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals, and the UN’s Vision for Everyone initiative. Recognized as a 2025 Young Systems Leader Award winner, Samit is driving innovative, sustainable solutions to make clear sight a universal right.
