Love Your Eyes & The Global Summit for Eye Health​

In 2026 our collective effort takes on even greater importance as we head towards the Global Summit for Eye Health in November. Hosted by the Government of Antigua and Barbuda, the Global Summit will focus on the value of vision to countries, communities and individuals.

Love Your Eyes plays a critical role, by loudly and publicly demanding that everyone, everywhere should be able to love their eyes and experience the value of vision.​

Five years on from the UN Resolution on Vision, the Summit is an opportunity to secure a new wave of ambitious commitments and transform a shared vision into action.

Five Years of Love Your Eyes

What began as a simple call to action in 2021, has become one of the most powerful moments for eye health. A campaign that has united a sector, reached millions, and inspired communities to prioritise their eye health and the eye health of those around them. ​

From workplaces and classrooms to parliaments and city streets, the message has been clear: eye health matters. Together, we have built a movement that has changed how people think about vision.

Why World Sight Day

Nearly everyone on the planet will experience an eye health issue in their lifetime, yet over a billion people still lack access to the services and treatments they need.

World Sight Day is an annual reminder to #LoveYourEyes and an opportunity to join millions of people globally who understand the value of vision and demand global leaders act now on eye health. ​

Together, we will make eye health impossible to ignore.​

Love Your Eyes

Love Your Eyes at Work

No matter where you are or what job you do, it is important to prioritise and protect your eye health at work. This includes everything from avoiding accidents in the workplace, which are too often caused by or lead to poor vision, to productivity, which is greatly improved when the eye health of workers is a made priority.

About World Sight Day

On World Sight Day a spotlight is cast on the importance of eye care. Every October, on the second Thursday, the worlds’ attention is focused on what it means to have eye care that is accessible, available and affordable to all.

The noise created each year by campaigners around the world, has governments and those of influence listening like never before – recognizing that early intervention and regular eye health is critical to unlocking education opportunities and future economic potential.
